How to Submit Editing
Rates are based on the following requirements for a standard page:

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in a standard format:
    8 1/2 x 11 inch page, double spaced copy, with one-inch margins on the top, bottom and one-and-one-half-inch margins on the sides of the page.

Note that single-spaced documents will be accepted in the electronic format, but will reflect the extra costs per page.
  • The manuscripts must be produced in 12 point Times New Roman, Courier, Arial, or a similar, easy-to-read non-bold type.
    This format provides approximately 250 words per page.
  • Manuscripts must be submitted in MS Word, unless alternate arrangements are made with the editor.
  • Manuscripts with odd fonts, small fonts, or difficult-to-read fonts will be returned unread, or charged an extra fee.
  • Manuscript files must be sent as an attached file in an e-mail message sent to the editor at A Better Word.com.
  • A 'Questionnaire Input Information' form must be filled out and submitted with each project.

      • There is a $25.00 minimum charge for each project.
      • All rates are based on US Dollars.
      • The hourly rate for all editing services is $35.00 per hour, when required beyond the standard services.
      • A payment of 50% of the estimated cost is required before a project can be started.
      • The balance of the payment is due before the project is returned to the author.
      • Any major changes or additions to a project will be considered as a separate project and will handled and estimated accordingly.

Payments

Payments are made with your Visa, MasterCharge, Discover or American Express credit card through our PayPal account. PayPal is committed to handling your customer information with the highest standards of information security.

We expect a 50% deposit payment with the submission of a project and the balance due before delivery.

A minimum charge of $25.00 is to be prepaid for all small projects.

All payments are to be made in US dollars.
